About the event
Harald Häuser, born in 1957, grew up on Lake Constance and in Paris. From 1977 to 1978 he studied political science, literary studies and linguistics at the University of Konstanz and from 1978 to 1983 he studied painting with Per Kirkeby at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe.
In 1979 he founded the artist group “Staatsfried” with, among others, Wolf Pehlke, Heinz Pelz, Ralf Scherrer and Jürgen Wiesner. In 1985 he moved from Karlsruhe to Marburg.
The exhibition shows paintings that were created during his last years in Karlsruhe, as well as new pictures, drawings and majolica ceramics.
The title of the exhibition “LOVE LETTERS” is a poetic paraphrase of the message inherent in the images: tolerance and empathy are a basic principle of dynamic processes of matter and - ideally - human coexistence. By observing the freely developing color structures, laws reminiscent of writing are derived with a fine brush. Letters to the Working Universe.
